We’ll Help You Through The Process
Step 1: Backup Your Old Device
If you are upgrading your device, I am sure that you are going to want to transfer everything from your old phone, from contacts to browser settings to applications. The nice thing is that the backup tools within the IOS and Android platforms now allow you to backup and save almost everything you need to the cloud or to a computer. On Android: go to Settings -> System -> Backup. On IOS: go to Settings -> Apple ID Name -> iCloud. Apple also offers the option to make a backup through iTunes by simply connecting your iPhone to your computer. While most of your phone’s data will be backed up through these tools, there might be some individual apps or games that might not be as easily transferrable. You may be able to reach out to the developer through the app store listing or simply re-add the app on your new device.
Step 2: Transfer The SIM Card
Let’s take the phone out of the box and any additional accessories you may have purchased. Our phones from Cell Giant come with their batteries partially charged, so, you can get started right away. The other great news is that our phones are Unlocked, so, you need only use the tip of a small paper clip to open the SIM tray and remove the SIM card. Simply, place that SIM card into your new phone and you are ready to go! Of course, if this is your first smartphone (Congratulations!), then, you will need to purchase a SIM card from the carrier of your choosing who should then activate it, place in your new phone, and now you are ready to go!
Step 3: Manage Through Settings
Your phone is now ready to receive and make outgoing calls. If you want to fully charge your device, plug in using your cable and/or power adapter. Also, it may not be a bad idea to connect to Wifi if you can, especially if you are downloading any Apps during setup and you are on a limited data monthly plan. Now setting up your device to fit your personal needs can all be managed through ‘Settings’. My immediate suggestion is to setup a login password so that no one but, you, can access your device. Also, another suggestion is to set the Auto-Lock feature under ‘Display & Brightness’ so that you conserve your battery’s life. You may choose to update to the latest software or any number of options within Settings, but, that again is all a matter of personal preference.
Good luck with your new purchase, take good care of it, and, very importantly, ENJOY!
